Students Win another General Video Game Playing Competition!

A group of students who participated in our Practical Course in Artificial Intelligence won the single player planning track of the CIG 2016 General Video Game Playing Competition, where the goal was to develop a bot that is able to play video games with unknown rules. The winning program Yolobot featured several special-purpose problem solvers (such as heuristic search or Monte-Carlo Tree Search) with an extensive knowledge base for gathering game characteristics which can be used for using and adjusting the right type of solver. More than twenty-five international teams showed up in the final ranking, which was clearly dominated by Yolobot. Congratulations!
