2nd Price at German Data Processing Center Awards
An Optic's Life, a joint whitepaper by Flexoptix GmbH and the Knowledge Engineering Group, has been awarded the 2nd price in the "ideas and research" category at the German Data Processing Center Awards.
The whitepaper foresees the employment of machine learning methods for predicting the remaining operating life of optical transceivers, and the use of rule learning in particular for gathering insights in the factors that have an impact on the lifetime of optical transceivers. Such learned models could be used to develop a new generation of intelligent monitoring tools, which could significantly lower the operating costs of data centers.
Flexoptix and the Knowledge Engineering Group aim at continuing joint research on the topic.
